Double Sided Blackboard Slate | Pre-writing Toys for Kids

The NESTA TOYS Double-Sided Wooden Chalkboard Slate is a reusable writing and drawing board designed for children 3 to 10 years. It features two blackboard surfaces within a sturdy pine wood frame, giving children space to draw, doodle, trace letters, practise numbers and explore early writing skills. Its reusable design makes it suitable for home learning, preschool activities, homeschooling and creative play.

The two-sided design gives children more space for different activities, whether they are practising pre-writing strokes on one side, creating drawings on the other or using the slate for simple learning games. The product is also compact enough for convenient use in smaller spaces.

Why Children Enjoy Using This Wooden Chalkboard

A reusable chalkboard gives children the freedom to practise, erase and try again without needing a new sheet of paper every time.

• Two writing surfaces: Children can use both sides for drawing, writing, tracing and creative activities.
• Supports pre-writing practice: Drawing lines, shapes and patterns can help children become more comfortable with early writing movements.
• Encourages creative expression: Children can freely doodle, draw pictures and create their own patterns and stories.
• Builds hand control: Holding chalk and making controlled strokes gives children opportunities to practise hand and finger movements.
• Encourages independent learning: Children can choose what they want to draw or practise and repeat activities at their own pace.
• Reusable for everyday practice: The chalkboard can be wiped clean and used again for new drawings, letters, numbers and activities.
• Screen-free learning: It provides a hands-on alternative to digital drawing and writing activities.

Ways Kids Can Use the Wooden Chalkboard

The Double-Sided Wooden Chalkboard can become part of both learning activities and creative play at home.

• Practise pre-writing strokes: Start with straight lines, curves, circles and simple patterns before moving towards letters and numbers.
• Trace letters and numbers: Parents can draw a letter or number and invite children to copy or trace it.
• Create a drawing: Let children use one side for free drawing, doodles and creative expression.
• Play draw-and-guess: One person can draw a simple object while another tries to guess what it is.
• Practise simple maths: Use the slate to write numbers, draw shapes or solve simple addition and subtraction activities.
• Create stories: Children can draw characters, objects or scenes and use them to build simple stories.
• Use both sides: Keep one side for learning activities and the other for free drawing and creative play.
• Wipe and try again: Erase completed activities and give children a fresh surface for their next idea.
